How we celebrated Mothers day

We love a pamper and what better excuse than Mothers day to get together for a girly day and our destination was Jarrold's in Norwich.

This Mothers Day saw myself, Charlene and our mum and nan descend upon Jarrold's for a Mothers day treat.
Our go to department for beauty luxury is Jo Malone. If you have yet to discover Jo Malone then you are missing out. Jo Malone not only offers perfumes using only the finest of scents but home fragrances and skincare too. The products are beautifully presented and gift wrapped to perfection with scented tissue and ribbon wrapped boxes making a bar of soap the most precious gift you have ever received.
Jo Malone within Jarrold's have wonderful staff who remember repeat guests and after wondering in one day i was offered the opportunity to book up for the 'Mothers Day' pampering with discounted afternoon tea in Benjis and obviously I couldn't say no.

Mothers Day

We arrived at 11.30 for our pamper treat which would be a hand and arm treatment each with nibbles and a glass of sparkling wine.
Before our treatment we were presented with the new Bloomsbury collection and discussed what our favourite scent was and what what other products we liked. With this in mind our therapist was able to combine different scents personal to us. Jo Malone loves to layer scents and the nature of the fragrances allows you to do so with gorgeous results.
Mum was first up with a foaming cleaning hand and arm wash in 'Peony and blush suede' followed by an hand and arm massage of the same scent and layered with a spritz of Myrrh and Tonka intense cologne. The combination was lovely and we all had a good sniff lol

After our lovely hand massages our favourite products were added to our wish list which is great as family and friends can go in on a later date and select a gift from our list.

For our mum and Nan Jo Malone kindly gifted them a 9ml perfume and body cream all gift wrapped up. It was such a lovely touch and our Nan was over the moon as she has never had anything so expensive before.

Myself and Charlene treated our mum to the 'Myrrh and Tonka' Cologne intense for her Mothers Day gift and I must say I'm very jealous about this and if I still lived at home I would steal a few spritz's.

Afternoon Tea

Mum and Charlene

Myself and Nan

Mum with all the cakes; there was another cake stand for Charlene and Nan.

Benjis on the fashion floor is a real treat. The decor has an expensive yet friendly feel. We had a table reserved for us and after choosing our drinks off an extensive tea and coffee menu our lunch was bought over. We had the Prosecco afternoon tea. The afternoon tea has the classic crustless finger sandwiches and fruit scone with jam and clotted cream alongside mini cakes, there were a lot of mini cakes; 6 each to be exact all nestled on top tear with pretty small flowers.
Between us we couldn't manage all the cake treats so these were taken home to be finish off later.

We didn't leave Jarrold's until 2.30pm feeling pampered and full and our Nan feeling a little tipsy (bless her)

We had such a lovely day, and followed the pamper up with some retail therapy.

Look out at your nearest Jo Malone for there special events which are complimentary to book into and it's a great way to be introduced to new fragrances.

I hope you all enjoyed your day

Fitness Journey: 2

It's the 2nd log of my fitness journey and I'm feeling good....

I totally forgot that it was my weigh day the other week and didn't wear the same clothing as I think wearing the same gives you a good visual comparison as some clothes pull you in in different ways but my measurements were good.

My New Stats

Weight: 73kg
Body Fat: 33.8%
Waist: 69cm
L Thigh: 61cm
R Thigh: 61cm
R arm: 28cm
L Arm: 28cm
Hips: 87cm
Bum: 109cm

I am so pleased with my results so far and my new measurements have brought my waist down by 6cm in 8 weeks. My main concern is still my bum and thighs which haven't changed much so are still the main focus of my training.

I am still loosely following the slimming world plan but I'm struggling as I'm experimenting with food from various books such as 'Lean in 15' or 'Deliciously Ella' and it's not fitting with my syns allowance. I'm just about managing it but if I go slightly over I'm not too worried as I'm still getting results.

This week I discovered a new food to me... Quark. I managed to find it in garlic and herb and it's totally fat free. I have added a small amount to sweet potato in the oven and it really does feel like a treat. I also bought the red pepper one and have added to pasta as a fat free sauce with lots of veg.

My PT Danielle has some new ankle weights at 5lb each. This week saw me stair climbing with ankle weights directly followed by weighted 'squat presses' it felt good and I could really feel my legs working. We also done some 'donkey kicks' with the weights and just 4 sets of 15 reps got me sweating.

We have also spent a lot of time on abs to tone my core. We used the reclined bench and just a 5kg weight to carryout 4 reps of 15 sit ups... it was an absolute killer and I did let out a few squeals at times and if Danielle wasn't there is would have given up on the 3rd set but she pushes you to want to get that last rep done.

I nearly skipped the last two!

The good thing about having a PT is not just them pushing you to work harder but to also to teach you how to carry out exercises to the achieve the maximum effects. I have only just found out that I have been doing side pulls wrong for years. The most effective method is to have closed legs and you use more of your core for balance. It's also best to keep the movement slow and not exaggerated like I have been doing and I could feel the difference straight away.

My target for the next few weeks

For the next few weeks before my weigh-in Danielle has given me a diet plan to follow which is very much clean eating and works on low/high carb days and I've been warned its going to be tough. I'm really hoping on the new weigh in and picture day to see a big difference from my first picture as i will be at the 12 week mark. My weight goal is to be around 71kg and I'm hoping to loose some size at my thighs so i will be working hard at the gym on cardio for weight loss.

Clinique Fresh Pressed

Now your daily dose of vitamin C is applied directly to your skin with the launch of two exciting products.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the launch of 'Fresh Pressed' by Clinique at Jarrolds in Norwich. I joined fellow beauty bloggers for a morning of brunch, gorgeous products and the fabulous beauty team that is Clinique to be the first to see the two new products within the line that boasts the power of vitamin C.

I have worked with many different product houses within my beauty therapy career and still love being introduced to new ones; the fact that the main concern with my skin currently is aging and dullness means these products were made for me!

Traditionally vitamin C is digested and the only time I ever think about the benefits of vitamin C is when I'm suffering a cold and it becomes my go-to supplement for it's immune boosting benefits but it's much more than that when applied to our skin.

Vitamin C is 20 times more powerful when applied directly to the skin and with this in mind Clinique have captured all the powerful goodness of the vitamin and created a 'Renewing Powder Cleanser' and 'Daily Booster' with pure vitamin C at their highest concentration to deliver powerful skin results including; instant brightening, smoothing, firming as well as minimising fine line and wrinkles.

Renewing Powder Cleanser

I have never seen a cleanser in powder form before and love the design of daily sachets which will be prefect for travel and also stops you over using it and causing waste.

1 sachet is mixed with water to activate the ultra fine powder and will be sufficient to cleanser your entire face leaving your skin refined, purified and brighter. The cleanser is recommended to be used in the morning to give you a boost for the day and if like me you like to use a skin brush for deeper cleansing the system works well with this too.
The formula is non-drying and being in single use sachets protects the potency of the formula giving you the most powerful cleansing system every day.

Daily Booster

Clinique have really pushed the beauty boundaries with this product.
Pure vitamin C naturally degrades with oxygen so it is at its most powerful when fresh. The booster therefore is activated by breaking the seal to release the active vitamin C into an emollient that stays at maximum potency for 7 days.

To use you simply mix two drops of the booster to your favorite moisturiser and massage into your skin. There is enough booster to be used morning and night for 7 days. If there is any remaining booster left you can continue to use but the powerful vitamin C will be reduced slightly.
The booster feels absolutely lovely on your skin, you can really see your skin glow from the first use and even mixed with moisturiser your skin is left with a perfect base for make-up application for the day.

Booster Facts

After your first use of the booster you will instantly see a radiance and brightness will have increased by 36%.
After just 4 weeks of use age spots are reduced by 21% so this product is perfect for those of us who love the sun and may have caused damage to our skin.
By week 12 fine lines and wrinkles are reduced by 43% and age spots reduced by a further 11% to a 32%

What I also love about the launch of these products is the 7 day system.
For just £25 you get 7 sachets of the cleanser and 1 tube of the daily booster so it's perfect to give your skin the ultimate treat and 'pick me up'
The 7 days system can be introduce at any point alongside your existing beauty regime or alternatively this system can be used daily for longer lasting results.

My morning with Clinique and Jarrolds was lovely and I have to give praise for the amazing food by the talented chefs at Jarrolds; it was all delicious, healthy and full of goodness to perfectly match the products.

Delicious juice's...

More delicious food...
