All MAC everything...almost

I've just spent the weekend in Essex for a friends hen party and captured my evening and daytime make up looks to share with you. I am a huge fan of MAC and both looks were created using all MAC products...except for the mascara which is a real cheap find that I'll share at the end.

Below are my two looks and a list of the products I used to create them. Sorry for the serious face poses!

Look one... Evening

Foundation: Studio Sculpt NC30
Concealer: Studio Finish NC30
Powder/Foundation: Mineralize loose foundation in light plus
Contour/Highlight: Mineralize skinfinish in semi precious pearl
Blush: Mineralize blush in gleeful
Eyebrow: Eye pencil in stud
Eyeshadow: Retrospeck and Bronze
Eye pencil: Eye Kohl in Teddy
Lipstick: Matte So Chaud

Look two... Daytime

Foundation, concealer, powder, blush, eyebrow and eye pencil are all as listed above. The rest is...

Lip pencil: Spice
Lipstick: Honey Love

The only non MAC product in both looks is the mascara. I'm yet to find one that actually does what it says without having the phrase...' Styled with natural lash inserts' which basically means you won't be able to achieve this look with the mascara alone. The mascara that I love at the moment is Essence 'Maximum defenition volume mascara' available in Wilkos. It's small plastic brush is perfect for getting into all the corners and it really does give length and volume without it being clumpy and tacky. It's around £2.80 so the price is brilliant compared to some of the more well now brands but I honestly think this one is just as good.

I hope you liked the two looks and if there's a mascara that you think I'll like then let me know

The secret to happy feet

Its that time of year when your feet finally meet the outside world after being crammed into boots all winter. There is no point investing all your money on a new sparkly pair of sandals if your heels are dry and cracked...I promise you that's the only thing people will notice. To ensure your feet are always flip flop ready you need to put in a little effort but if you do it on a regular basis it only needs to take a few minutes per week.

Treating your feet...

Foot files are a must if you want to keep your heels smooth. I have tried several but my favourite is one in Wilko's for only 75p and they come in a variety of colours. After a shower or a bath I dry my feet then use the rougher side of the file on my heels and ball of the foot and remove any areas of dryness. I then flip to the smoother side and go over the same areas to give ultra smooth finish. I do this once a week.

Wilko double sided foot file 75p

Cheese grater file!!! I have also road tested the metal foot files that resemble a cheese grater and I have to say that I was terrified once I felt how sharp it was. I rubbed the file over my heels and just the sound and feel across my skin made me shudder. I didn't make them smoother at all and in fact left little scratch lines in my feet. Maybe these are designed for those with extra dry skin but I would proceed with caution if you are going to use these.

Beware of these harsh files

Moisture for the soles...

Scholl cracked heel repair balm 60mls £5.39 is a wonder product. It's a thick waxy type cream that works best if you apply it a night and then cover with an old pair of soaks to give it time to really soak in. If your feet are really dry you will notice a drastic different within 7 days if you use it each night. If your feet are okay this is good as a once a week treat to keep your feet hydrated. Beware if you apply this during the day you may slip and slide in your shoes!!

Scholl is available at www.boots.com

If anyone has tried any other heel repair balm that they feel tops the one I've mentioned then please let me know.

DIY Pedicure...

Once a month throughout the year I like to get a pedicure to keep my cuticles and polish in check. I'd like to say that I go to a salon but quite often it's one I do at home. You don't need to invest in fancy foot spa either. A washing up bowl...obviously one reserved for just this will work fine. Add a little peppermint foot soak to the water to give freshness to your feet (I recommend The body Shop Reviving Foot Soak at just £7)
Dry your feet and remove any dry skin, gently push back your cuticles with an orange stick then apply your favourite polish. Please remember not to smoother your feet in cream before the polish or it will create a barrier on the nail and prevent the polish from drying. If you do then remove it with polish remover before painting. In the industry this is known as 'squeaking' the nail...the name given to the noise it makes. Also remember to use a base coat to avoid the polish staining your nail. I then finish it off with cuticle oil to give extra hydration to the area.

Thanks for the read and speak soon

My Little 'Provence' Box

About a month ago I subscribed to a subscription box called my little box. It's a French concept called my little box and every month you get sent a differnt lifestyle box with a different theme. If you check out our YouTube Chanel you can see what I got in my first box which was my little dream box. The Mays themed box was called the 'Provence' box.

So what was inside my box...

Embroidery Cuff worth £15...This is a cute gold effect cuff that you can decorate in any pattern using the enclosed threads. I love crafty items and will enjoy making this look pretty.

My little doll magnets worth £6...Sadly i do not a have a fride that these will stick too so I shall hang onto them for future use

The amazing eyeshadow crayon worth £9...The colour is a beautiful metallic golden brown which is definitely one of the colours I go to and looks amazing for a smoke eye look instead of black

A lovely draw string cotton bag containing a selection of L'Occitane products which I will take with me in August when I go to Crete with Leannne and a friend.
*Verbena leaf soap
*Roses et reines hand and nail cream
*Mer and Mistral shower gel
*Vebena body lotion

I'm already excited to see what's inside the June box. It's like receiving a present to myself every month!! I would definitely recommend this box for those of you that like somthing a bit different and with a more cultural influence.

As well as all the above goodies you also get a product information guide and little magazine of fashion and beauty ideas. Plus the box itself is super cute and useful to store excess makeup and beauty products in and all for just £11 a month!! What's there not to love about it!!

If you would like to subscribe them or see more information on these boxes then click here
