Back to Mac

Free Mac lipstick..... turn your empty packaging into a free lippy

Say hello to 'Back to Mac'

Mac has been running the 'Back to Mac' program for years but unless you look online you may be unaware of this perk.
All you have to do is continue to use your mac products but instead of binning your empties recycle them. Recycle 6 empty Mac products in store or online to receive a free lipstick of your choice. (Primary packaging excepted, excluding the Viva glam range)

My empty Mac products

I have collected many empty containers and as I have a mountain of lip colours already I gave these to my mum so she could choose a free lipstick.

My mum with her new lip colour

Now the hard part: browse the collections and start recycling

The Double Bun

Someone times you just want to channel your inner child and after spotting the double buns on Khloe Kardashian and celebs alike I decided to have a go.

Split your hair in half and tie into two high pony tails. Turn these into buns either neat ones using small doughnut rings or messy ones by twisting the hair and then wrapping it around the hair bands and secure with grips...inner child released.

Products I Recommend

Wella EIMI Dry Me - Dry shampoo is good to make the hair more manageable when putting it up especially if you have just washed £7.50

V05 Pump it Up - Dry backcombing spray - If like me yo have fine hair this is perfect to speak on the pony tails and gentle backcomb them before twisting into the buns to give the illusion of fuller thicker hair £4.19

Schwarzkopf got2b Oil-Vicious dry oil mist - This will give your double buns instant shine £4.19

The Body Shop: Drops of Sun

Summer may be over but you are now able to get that sun kissed glow all year round with 'Drops of Sun' by The Body Shop.

What is Drops of Sun?

This is on the same aesthetic design as their shade adjusters but is used to give your skin that sun kissed glow. I purchased this 2 weeks ago and have not worn foundation since!! I never thought Id ever say that...ever!

Application

I pump a small amount of moisturiser onto my foundation brush then add a few drops of 'Drops of Sun' I then dot this on my forehead, cheeks and chin and blend it all over my face and down my neck and It's as simple as that.

Review

The colour and glow it gives my skin is just lovely. I find I no longer have to worry about the foundation sliding off my face by mid afternoon and going patchy when I reapply press powder.
The colour is not too dark and you could always customise  it by using less or more drops with moisturise as you wish.  It costs £12 and would last a while as you only need a small amount.

Would I by it again?

Half no drops, half with drops...                                        Finished... no foundation required

Yes and the price point couldn't be any better.

I'm just gutted that I didn't notice this during the summer as it would have been lovely with a tan. I'm not say I won't ever use foundation again as I'm a sucker for beauty products but for now I'm happy with the results.

Olaplex

What is all the fuss about?

Olaplex is a revolutionary new product that means the boundaries of colour can now be pushed even further and for clients it means stronger healthier hair.
During chemical processes damage can occur resulting in deterioration of the hair condition. Olaplex is designed to reconstruct broken bonds effectively reverting the hair back to its once healthy state.

3 Steps to OLAPLEX

No1 Bond Multiplier

In Salon service: No1 is added into your regular colour, perm or chemical relaxer and will dramatically reduce damaged caused during the chemical service by re-joining bonds within the hair that can braek down with chemical processes.

No2 Bond Perfector

This continues to repair the bonds within the hair. It's applied after the colour has been rinsed from the hair and left for 10 to 20 minutes.

This step can also be used as a stand alone in salon treatment by using it as a cutting lotion. It will be rinsed out directly before the hair is dried and styled.
This is perfect for when you have your regular trim between colouring services and always keeps your hair in top condition.

No3 Take Home Bond Perfector

This is a take home treatment which is applied to damp but not shampooed hair and left for a minimum of 10 minutes before being shampooed and conditioned as normal. For optimum results leave on for 30 minutes.

Step 3 come in a 100ml bottle retailing at £32. This may sound expensive but I would say to use once a week and one bottle will on average last around 6 uses depending on hair length and thickness.

If hair is particularly damaged you would benefit from using this
2 -3 times a week.

Visit Olaplex for more info and to find your nearest salon

Leanne Loves: September Issue

I'm calling this my loves of the moment as I can be fickle and I always say ' I love that'

Sons of Anarchy

So I know this has been out ages and I'm slow to catch on but I have now discovered the series and I'm hooked. I'm hooked for the main reason being that I love Jax... Lets just dream about Jax for a few moments........... I am at that point where it hits 12 midnight and I desperately want to put another episode on but I'm fighting to keep awake. I can't give too much away apart from its about a motorcycle club (you must not say motorcycle gang) and they say 'Jesus Christ; a whole lot. If you are like me and are yet to catch on then head to Netflix for the box set.

'Jax' Sons of Anarchy

St Tropez Tan

Now I trained in St Tropez tanning at my first beauty job and after a few years I fell out of love for it as I felt it wore off the skin uneven but i have recently brought the tanning mousse and love it again (I may just be better at applying it) It goes on so even and blends amazingly. I have had lots of people comment on my lovely colour so I'm sticking with it. I like to head to Boots to stock up as I love collecting their points and they often have great offers on the St Tropez range. If you want an extra dark tan opt for the darker tanning mousse.

Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte

I was so excited to receive an email from Starbucks telling me I could get the pumpkin spice latte in August! This is my all time favourite drink. I will now be sipping these constantly until they run out; I am just telling myself that they are low in calories.

My all time favourite drink.

Eyeliner

I have always worn eyeliner, I was wearing liquid eyeliner even when it wasn't fashionable to wear it but I'm loving liner flicks. I feel that I can now do an acceptable liner flick that matches on both eyes (it only taken years) and I can achieve the look, be it subtle without having sore eyes where I have had to keep wiping bits off. I am now looking into expanding the winged look by buying sticker to use as a template that I have seen online. My go-too liner at the moment is 'Seventeen' wet look liner in black, the tip is easy to control and it stays put all day with a glossy finish.

Short nails

I know... would you ever think I would say this. I have this month converted to a short nail. The reason I am loving this is it its so nice to feel keyboard keys, bang a nail without the fear of ripping a finger off and removing creams from pots without having a weeks worth under my nails. I'm maintaing my short nails with Bio Sculpture overlays to keep them looking groomed and lovey. I'm not sure how long this love will last but for now its a good relationship.

Bio Sculpture Evo gel

T-shirts

I once considered a T-shirt too casual and a good accessorie to stop fake tan rubbing on my bed sheets but I now love them. I love styling with skirts or tucking into jeans.

'Own it' T-Shirt £5 Primark

Thank you for reading my September 'Loves' I have to go now to watch Sons of Anarchy aka Jax

Twin 1: Leanne

I have always been known as one of the 'Twins' but here is what makes me Leanne....

So I'm one of a twin, the eldest twin by 7 minutes to be fact, I used to be so proud of those extra minutes; The older im getting not so much.
The only time I have been totally away from Charlene was when I went to college to study beauty therapy and Charlene choose a hairdressing apprenticeship, it was nice to be a single person.
From college I went to work at Sprowston Manor Hotel in the spa called 'La Fontana' I loved working there for 6 years, it was such a lovely environment with the other therapists and hotel life in general, there were so many funny stories, always something going on.

It was when I left the spa that I joined Norwich City College teaching and within my first year Charlene joined the teaching staff and we were once again back together and have been for the last 9 years. Along side teaching Charlene and I both own our own hair and beauty salon which is amazing. I literally love going to work every day with my clients, it doesn't even feel like work sometimes.  I love owning the salon as we get to choose products and brands we believe in and trust and just just brands we are paid to work with.

So now about me:

Life

I live in a Small two bed coach house which is basically an apartment above garages with a garden. I live with my boyfriend Mike of 7 years, our two cats Simba and Coby and loads of fish (apparently he was allowed a tank when I got the cats... I had never pre-agreed to that)
I love my house though now feel that we are growing out of it and we have collected stuff; by stuff I mean we have a weights bench in the spare room and an exercise bike in the living room and my computer lives on my dining table as there is no room else where.
I would love to live in a barn conversion and depress myself by looking at houses online that I can't afford but it's good motivation to work hard in the hope that one day I will.

Simba and Coby

Shopping
I love to spend money and should really start to save but there is always something that catches my eye that I have to have. I love Topshop and Zara and everyday I have to cut through Primark to get to work so it would be rude not to browse or purchase from time to time.
Most of my clothes are brought in the salon..... I actually do mean they were in the salon too; its not just a line  say to Mike.

Image
I'm am constantly worrying about my weight and bikini body; I would love nothing more that to look like Michelle Lewin but it will never happen so I will continue to work out and eat in moderation while never actually changing in appearance.
My hair is never long enough, I don't think it grows and I'm always after whiter teeth, slimmer calf's and pert bum.

Travel

Ibiza 2016

I would love to travel more; from my limited travel I have fallen in love with Ibiza and visited the island 3 times now, I have promised myself that I will one day live there, hopefully 'Cala Bassa' and myself and Mike will work as diving instructors (It's a good dream)
On my travel list there is Islamorada, Honolulu and Bora Bora.... I may need to stop spending and get saving for these I know.

Worries
I can sometimes feel anxious, anxious for no reason really, worrying I'm on the right path in life.... I guess I will find out.

Favourites
I have loads of loves in life so I will list a few

Family
Friends
My Boys (cats)
Sunshine and Flowers
Films; Sex and the city is literally the best thing I have been brought
Animals (Indian food
Bags
Shoes
BBQ's
Holidays
Anything beauty related..........

Hates
Spiders.... just spiders

So that's just a snip of me; Leanne

Thank you for reading
